At Home Test for Lead in Toys
As a mom of young children with toys all over the house I've been talking to my mom friends about all the toy recalls in the news lately, and we've often said "Wouldn't it be great if we could find out for ourselves if there's lead in these toys?" Well, wouldn't you know it, there is! I came across this website for a company that makes a handy-dandy Portable Handheld Niton XRF analyzer, which, basically, is this thing that looks like an elaborate squirt gun that you can take around your house and point it at all your toys and it will test them for lead. I couldn't see how much this tester costs on their website, but if any of my customers do look into it please let me know. The company is called Thermo Scientific.
